Due to its position in Oban, Argyll Mansions is a perfect place to stay for a car free holiday. The train station is less than a five minute walk away with regular services to Glasgow, and from there trains north and south. Once in Oban there are regular ferries for day trips to Mull and Iona and bus services to Ganavan beach, Oban Seal Sanctuary and other areas in this beautiful part of Scotland. Or you could hire bikes and take advantage of the new cycle track being built between Oban to Fort William.
Or you can fly to Glasgow then catch the train. The nearest airport is Glasgow, although Prestwick is not too far away. Prestwick has a train station with direct trains to Glasgow, but from Glasgow airport you would need to transfer into the city if you wanted to catch the train (a regular bus service runs approximately every 10 minutes from the airport to the station and the journey time is about 25 minutes).
